Assistant General Manager
Summary of the Role: The Dispensary Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a key member of the retail leadership team. In partnership with the General Manager, the AGM oversees daily dispensary operations, including staff training and development, team management, regulatory compliance, cash handling, and overall operational execution. A successful AGM effectively balances driving exceptional patient satisfaction with achieving commercial growth objectives, while ensuring inventory is managed within a secure, compliant, and well-controlled facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Leadership
- Manage the daily operations of the dispensary retail location to ensure efficient, compliant, and customer-focused performance.
- Assume responsibility for day-to-day store operations in the absence of the General Manager (GM).
- Assist with employee scheduling to meet business needs while maintaining labor budgets and operational expectations.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure the team consistently follows all standard operating procedures related to dispensing, inventory management, and sales operations.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and all applicable state and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor compliance across all areas of dispensary operations and address issues promptly and appropriately.
Inventory Management
- Track, monitor, and manage inventory using the state-mandated inventory tracking system and internal business management platforms.
- Conduct physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy between physical counts and system records at designated intervals (daily, weekly, quarterly, and annually).
Customer Experience
- Provide oversight of patient interactions to ensure the delivery of exceptional, world-class customer service.
- Support a positive, professional, and compliant patient experience throughout the dispensary.
People Management & Training
- Lead team training, onboarding, and ongoing development to ensure staff are knowledgeable, compliant, and performance-ready.
- Manage employee relations matters in accordance with company policies and in partnership with Human Resources as needed.
Systems & Technology
- Maintain business management platforms and ensure all technology systems are functioning effectively and securely.
- Troubleshoot operational system issues and coordinate with appropriate support resources when necessary.
Cash Handling & Financial Controls
- Handle cash in compliance with company policies, including deposits, change orders, cash counts, and secure storage.
- Support financial controls and loss-prevention measures to protect company assets.
Housekeeping:
- Support the cleanliness and organization of the facility in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Other Duties:
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support efficient, compliant, and patient-focused operations.
Position Requirements:
- Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays
- 3+ Years Retail management experience required,Experience in the marijuana industry preferred
- Demonstrates empathy and a passion for serving patients in need
- Is 18 years of age or older
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- Results driven & a strong verbal communicator
- Exhibits basic math skills required
- Demonstrate a proficiency for technology (including Microsoft Office & Retail POS systems)
