Summary of the Role: 

The Human Resource Generalist will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Generalist will work closely with leadership and the Director of Human Resources to champion the HR goals and strategies. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Assist in conducting internal HR audits to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Managing leave of absences and worker’s compensation claims (return to work/modified duty). This includes educating, communicating, designating leave types based on federal and/or state laws, sending paperwork, obtaining reports, and performing other relevant tasks.
  • Facilitate New Hire orientation in-person and virtual.
  • Collaborating and supporting all efforts in the deployment of HR initiatives and engagement programs that fosters a positive work environment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our HRIS system, including employee data and personnel files.
  • Assist with employee relations by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Maintains field compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations.
  • All other duties based on business needs.
 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/related field or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of experience supporting Human Resources
  • Strong communication skills in-person, on the phone, and written
  • Ability to take work direction and work independently
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Highly organized individual with a service mindset
  • Ability to think proactively and manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple locations
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds   
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday   
  • Ability to stand/sit for extended periods of time   
  • Extended computer usage 
  • Comfortable being under constant video surveillance 
  • Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to fumes, dust, odors, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, and noise.
