Summary of the Role: The Extraction Technician is responsible for supporting the processing and extraction of medical marijuana in the lab, ensuring all activities adhere to state medical marijuana regulations and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role includes manufacturing, storing, and maintaining equipment and materials necessary to carry out various extraction and infused product processes. The Extraction Technician is responsible for overall production, inventory management, recordkeeping, and quality control throughout the production flow, ensuring that products meet established standards and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
General Lab Operations
- Lead and support production activities in the Extraction Lab, including setup, operation, and maintenance of extraction equipment.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with state medical marijuana regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, lab surfaces, and tools.
Extraction & Production Support
- Assist in all phases of the extraction process, including material preparation, processing, and post-processing activities.
- Operate laboratory instruments, monitor extraction processes, record operational data, and provide results to supervisor for review.
- Prepare biomass and other materials for extraction, ensuring proper labeling and batch tracking.
- Support winterization, filtration, and rotary evaporation (rotovap) processes as directed, including handling solvents and monitoring temperatures per SOPs.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Conduct daily quality assurance checks and ensure all processes meet lab standards.
- Maintain accurate records and logbooks for extractions, production batches, and equipment use.
- Identify and report deviations, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately to supervisory staff.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with Lab Technicians, Lab Supervisors, and cross-functional team members to meet production goals.
- Adapt to changing production priorities while maintaining attention to detail, safety, and compliance standards.
Facilities & Housekeeping
- Work cross-functionally to ensure the facility maintains an exemplary standard of cleanliness, organization, functionality, safety, and security.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as necessary to support overall extraction operations and organizational objectives.
Position Requirements:
- Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to pass state and federal criminal background checks
- Skilled with Microsoft Office and Google workspaces
- Basic Mechanical skills
- Experience in any relevant trades, including horticulture, food handling, etc.
- Kitchen background is preferred but not required
- Laboratory experience is preferred but not required

- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work around plants, cannot have allergies to plants or plant environment.
- Work can be dirty/sticky and may leave you smelling like cannabis at the end of the day.
- Work will be in a warehouse setting: temperatures may vary from warm to cool.
- Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to, fumes, dust, odors, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, and noise.
